Shell

Annotation

The Meditation Pavilion, called Shell, is situated in a deciduous forest in a New Zealand glade, surrounded by six mature trees. The meditation pavilion is understood here as the destination of a journey through nature. The pavilion itself captures the energy of nature, creates shelter and lee for meditators, but at the same time it is sufficiently open to the surrounding nature. The shape of the pavilion is formed by one curve, which symmetrically orbits the inner central space. With its folds, it creates a structure for round walls and at the same time empty openings, which frame the view of the surrounding forest. And just like one construction curve, the off-fabric is made up of only one surface. The energy flows down the curves directly to the person.
