CAFE AND MULTIFUNCTIONAL HALL IN BERLIN

Adam Burger

Annotation

The proposed café and multifunctional hall are part of the cultural and artistic center, located in Berlin's Kreuzberg district on the northern edge of the area east of the U-Bahn station. It is the site of a former block of buildings that was bombed during World War II. The principle of the interior is based on linear elements that should connect it with the exterior. The facade of the building of the cultural and artistic center, in which the interiors are located, has a strong raster character. Linear elements in the form of wooden profiles could pleasantly follow the concept of the facade. At the same time, the position of the café on the rounded corner adds a second impulse and the interior responds to it with a partial organic shaping.
