Elementary school Mělník

Anna Přibylová

Annotation

The design of the primary school responds to the growing population of the town of Mělník and the increasing demand for places in primary schools. The aim was to create a functional building with a light and an open interior. The school is located at Bezručova Street, which should become a city boulevard in the future. The concept of the school is semi-static, where the scholars come to specialized classes from their over classes. Elementary classes are spatially separated from the Middle classes. There are 18 tribal classes with a capacity of 30 kids in the building. Spacious corridors and the school courtyard are used for kids during the breaks. The schoolyard is optically open to the area behind the school because the back of the building is raised above a slight slope.
