TO MANATEES

The core idea of the concept is an organically designed indoor pool. A series of ramps and stairs winds around the main paddock. The entrances are jumped one meter apart, so the visitor is once closer to the surface, once further away. In the basement there is a view into the aquarium from the horizon of the animal itself. Apart from the lights falling through the water surface, we will not find any other source, only weak points indicating the direction of travel. The light is brought through skylights and notches in the roof, creating sacral lighting that surrounds the entire interior. The facilities with a veterinary clinic and a medical pool are situated from the west. The food warehouse divided into indoor and outdoor part is connected to the visitor´s area by a bay door.
