ICEBERG

The project is located on Republic Square in Mladá Boleslav. In this project, we are solving how to free up the unwanted parking lot in the square and make it a space where people can spend some of their free time. At the same time, we are aware that parking is necessary for this area. So we hid the whole construction of the parking lot underground under a folded walkable roof made of translucent polycarbonate boards. The light is installed inside the roof structure and reaches both the parking and the exterior. The exact shape of the roof structure is derived from a piece of paper that is folded to make holes in the substructure for entrances. The solution should be practical and the shape of the roof should give an aesthetically pleasing impression.
