VRŠOVICKÁ HOUSING
Annotation
At the beginning there was, despite all the love for the romantic atmosphere of Nusle and Vršovice, basic rational thinking about requirements for an apartment. Good ventilation, light and generous outside space all together gave rise to the essential idea, an out-and-out open space which flows through all of the levels of the project. Ortogonal building is typical along Vršovické street and it seemed natural to follow the grid. In the end also the soft inspiration from surroundings as blind gables facing the railway, wooden porches, unkempt yards and secret worlds behind the wall, found its place in the project.
