Exhibition of Studio Projects

Annotation

The construction of the footbridge minimally interferes with the surrounding nature. The pre-stressed construction in the form of a clean line underlines the beauty of Krkonoše. We decided to work with profiles made of recycled plastic. This ecological material is basically immortal and is already in common use in Iceland and Scandinavia. It is also used in current railway construction, in the form of sleepers. The sleepers would be strung like beads on four threaded rods, separated by metal spacers, and finally fastened together. The balusters would be subtle and airy so as not to obstruct the view. The concept is characterised by a rational and elegant design, as well as innovative materials. As part of the school project, we wanted to experiment and discover unexplored possibilities.
