DOG SHELTER

Mikuláš Molitor

Annotation

Mezitratí - a deserted place in the centre of Prague, cut off from the city by a railway line. I'm trying to breathe new life into it. I propose not only a dog shelter, but a whole area with everything a dog could need. The heart of the design is a field where dogs can run around. It is surrounded by a path lined with trees and houses - a vet clinic, pet shop, dog salon, café, dog school, dog crematorium and the shelter. But finding a use for the site is not enough. I need to make it more attractive - take attention away from the overpasses that run through it. I give the whole design a distinctive colour scheme. The individual objects are different, but they use the same means of expression. They form a whole that dominates the site and the overpasses suddenly aren't so important anymore.
