žatec COMMUNITY CENTER - ADAPTIVE REUSE OF EPSTEIN AND MENDL HOPS DEPOSING BUILDING

The Zatec community center takes place in a 3000m² former hop storage warehouse. The aim of the project was to create a cultural space where people coud meet, exchange, relax and learn. The community center includes a coffee restaurant with a games and relaxing area, linked to a terrace and the park adjoining the building to the south; a library with a small space for an exhibition on the history of the building, the city and the hops; and spaces for special lectures or meetings like arts and crafrs, or a reading club for example. As the building is very wide, double and triple heights were created to bring in more light.
