A LIBRARY OF CRATES

The design is based on the use of materials that can be reused for other purposes after the object is removed. The chosen material for the design is plastic. These are primarily plastic crates that serve as a wall covering as well as shelves for books. This is a temporary structure that is best used in the summer. The building is located in the Home of AV area Voděrádky near the Pitkovické stream among the trees. The essence of the concept is to leave the original growth, not to interfere with the growth of trees and not to cut down any of them. The organic shape of the building, which thus avoids trees, is derived from this idea. Trees also grow through the building and are visible in the interior of the library, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere inside.
