Annotation

The assignment was the dam of Fláje in the Ore Mountains, which, thanks to its specific construction, creates extensive cavities inside the dam. These, due to their dimensions, were ideal for our design, which portrays the specific relief of the climbing route on El Capitan in the USA. Our intention was to bring climbers closer to the experience of climbing on a real rock surface and to preserve the essence of climbing in an enclosed and safe environment that allows for year-round use. The material used closely imitates the surface and structure of the rock, achieving an authentic climbing experience. The beds themselves are provided by mountaineering bivouacs, which are hanging tents commonly used for overnight stays on high cliffs such as El Capitan.
