Back to the point - The fortification ring of Rakovník

The core of Rakovník was historically a funcional system. Along with it´s radial paths, it formed solid organism that prospered both from trade and culturally. It was a base point for the whole region until it was not. A growth of subcentral quarters, as well as transfer of citizens to bigger cities, had a strong impact on the town´s life that weakened overtime. The main topic for revitalisation of Rakovník is to strenghten the power of city center again through wise sequence of interventions to the public spaces, buildings and functional layout.
