The Nachod's lair

Nachod castle presents today 3 main courtyards and many buildings, most of them are unused and in a state of neglect. This project proposes a rehabilitation of some of them as a new place of cultural and craftmanship exchange. Located near the Polish border, this new cultural center creates social links between Czech Republic and Poland around and historical place and heritage building. Thus, the castle is no longer only a tourist attraction but it becomes a meeting place for everyday life of the inhabitatns of the region. Indeed, the program includes a market in the former Turion fortress, an exhibition area related to craft workplaces, directly connected to the Officer's building cloister, a coffee shop in the former prisons and a small accomodation is provided for stakeholders.
