HOUSING BLOCK ČERNOKOSTELECKÁ x MALÍNSKÁ IN PRAGUE 10

The locality on the corner of Černokostelecká and Malínská streets is characterized by a very diverse character of the development. A tower block is directly adjacent to the plot, and a low urban block stands across the street. My project is a reaction to both, and since their height differs by ten meters, I decided to divide the building into two volumes. The higher forms a continuation of the neighboring tower block and the lower is as tall as the opposite block. I tried to optically separate the two parts of the building, both by the use of surface materials (plaster x concrete) and by their arrangement (grid x horizontal orientation) There are commercial spaces on the ground floor, and one- to five-room apartments on the upper floors. A community park is located in the courtyard.
