KK - Karlín barracks

The goal of the thesis was the analysis of the Karlín barracks as a preparation for the diploma thesis. The Karlín Barracks is a historic classicist five-story building located in Prague 8 in the Karlín district. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is the drawings and documents of the Karlín barracks itself. The second part is a freely available data and photos, from which various examples of the conversion of a courtyard or historic building for the purposes of current use are described. Examples are collected from places around the world. The Karlín barracks, which are a cultural monument, now partly provide cultural spaces. The vision is the conversion and exploration for a new use of the barracks, which will be the subject of the diploma thesis.
