Křivoklát : revitalization of the first castle courtyard

The scope of the study is the revitalization of the first castle courtyard, to the Wenceslas Purcracy, house No. 136, the southern and western park and the Golden Bastion. A sensitive approach in the restoration of these areas is crucial for the preservation of the identity and authenticity of one of the most important Czech castles. This idea was linked to the restoration of the use of materials and the addition of features to the individual buildings. Reversibility and the choice of materials were the starting principles for the design of the geometric articulation of the paving of the courtyard. All spaces respond to the needs of the castle‘s management, visitor load and the authenticity of the site.
