Revitalization of the Karlín Barracks

The main objective of the project is to create an elevated pathway with an integrated running track, serving as the backbone of the entire complex. This feature clearly delineates public spaces from the private facilities of the FAMU and DAMU art schools while also ensuring direct connections to the central lecture halls located on the first floor. The placement of the pathway above the tree canopy not only optimizes the functional organization of the space but also offers users new visual and spatial experiences.The ground floor of the building has been transformed to establish a welcoming and vibrant public space. It hosts a variety of functions, including commercial operations and exhibition areas, tailored to meet the needs of the schools situated in the upper levels.
