METRO park Catania

Catania is the largest and most significant city in Sicily, yet it comes with many challenges. To address the lack of public green spaces and provide residents with areas to relax and connect with nature, a concept for a 19.5-hectare metropolitan park was developed. According to park typology, a metropolitan park should attract people from a wide area, offering a broad range of activities for all social and age groups with diverse interests, allowing for a full-day experience. Such a park is envisioned as a space where nature, culture, and art intersect, providing visitors with a mindful and relaxing atmosphere. In line with modern expectations, the park is also designed to play a crucial role in supporting biodiversity, maintaining ecosystems, and ensuring their stability.
