HORIZONS

Both the entrance and the exit of the space are created using a wooden staircase. To descend down onto the platform the middle part of the staircase should be used. The stairs on the side serve as a sitting area. The platform has a curved shape which symbolizes the horizon and is designed to follow the perimeter of the water reservoir. In the centre of the reservoir there is a small island, which is covered in grass. The glass sculpture on the island is the most defining and crucial object within the whole project. The purpose of this object is to draw attention to an unusual natural phenomenon which cannot be found in the surrounding area but which is typically found in the area of my hometown, the place that is close to my heart. The phenomenon in question is basalt rocks.
