The conference has been organized regularly since 2017 and its theme is education in schools of architecture. It serves as a platform to discuss new teaching methods, trends in architectural education and exchange ideas between professionals and architecture students. The conference regularly brings in guests from abroad who provide an international perspective and enrich the discussions with diverse approaches to architectural education.
Conferences on this topic are regularly held abroad (for example, the Research Based Education conference at the Bartlett School of Architecture in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart, the British Association of Architectural Educators (AAE) conference or the European Association of Architectural Education (EAAE) conference). The aim of the School of Architecture conference is to bring the topic of architectural education to the forefront of interest in the Czech Republic. This is especially the case for the topics of the connection between architectural creation and research or practice-oriented teaching, which are not very widespread in our academic environment.
