The actual conference at the FA is preceded by a professional excursion and workshop, led by Zuzana Štemberová and Eva Jeníková from the FA, with the participation of Dagmar Šubrtová, artist and teacher and Barbara Mullerová, who focuses on the deep mapping method and psychotests of the landscape.

Professional excursion and workshop

In the post-industrial landscape of the former mining areas of Kladno (Dubí, Mayrau, Poldi). The program will focus on engaging the senses to experience the perception of environmental aesthetics, including its historical forms and social functions, and the search for the relationship between the natural and post-industrial aesthetic value of a particular landscape, using the method of "deep mapping". The workshop will be held in Czech, admission is free for students, upon registration.

Three blocks of expert and doctoral contributions followed by thematic discussions and a final moderated debate on contemporary disciplinary tendencies and their interdisciplinary contexts. The conference will be held in Czech and English. The lectures will be given in Czech and English, and admission is free, upon registration. It is possible to participate in the debate without submitting an abstract.

  • / Karolína Pauknerová, Centre for Theoretical Studies, Philosopher
  • / Jana Tichá, theoretician and critic of architecture, lecturer at FA ČVUT
  • / Vladimír Sitta, landscape architect, teacher at the Czech Technical University
  • / Jitka Hlaváčková, curator, Prague City Gallery

Call for Papers:

For participation in the conference, we welcome papers from PhD students with research focused on the conference theme.

Please send an abstract of your proposed paper in Czech (max. 1000 characters) and your short professional CV (max. 500 characters) to konference.mezi.krajinami@gmail.com by September 29, 2024. Selected applicants will be notified by October 5, 2024. Conference papers will be presented in Czech language, expected length of the paper will be 3-6 minutes (depending on the topic and number of papers).

The conference outputs will be published in a collection of abstracts, doctoral papers (texts of 2000-4000 characters) will be published in a peer-reviewed proceedings or a special issue of a professional journal). The conference will be videotaped.
