The current typology of collective housing is the result of a specific historical development in the Czech Republic. Social trends lead to new, often hybrid, typologies of housing that better fit today's housing demands. The adaptation of the inherited typological forms of the existing housing stock goes hand in hand with innovative and nontraditional solutions.
