Application of Ultra-High Performance Concrete on Bridge Structures

Submitted project explores the possibilities of using the ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) for bridge structures. Project tries to demonstrate the comparison between the current bridge design and a more static suitable solution using UHPC. Bridges, that are designed to optimize the mechanical properties of UHPC, have a different static behaviour, initial costs, maintenance and operation costs, life-time cycle and environmental footprints. Using this material in optimized static design of bridge structures can create a paradigm for its widening implementation.
