Distribution of Essential Amenities within the Urban Fabric

The research is focused on the role of public and commercial facilities in urban planning and its relationship to both fabric and content of the city. In the core of the work is a comparative study of planning regulation of selected Czech and foreign cities in two levels of detail. Based on the analysis of regulation a classification of tools used to locate facilities and assign land use in the city will be established. Furthermore, the project will address the interrelations of these instruments and their position within in the whole system of land use decision-making. The aim is to develop a proper nomenclature, coherent classification of tools and planning systems in terms of distribution of key activities within the urban fabric. Research may constitute the basis for optimization of planning tools and subsequent research in field of urban morphology.
