The central theme of the course is the understanding of landscape, urban structure, urban greenery and public space - natural and landscape elements of the residential environment of settlements - in the context of technical, technological and architectural solutions. Using examples of specific locations and directly in the field, the course will provide students with an overview of the complex perception of the urban and landscape environment, including an introduction to urban, architectural, technical and technological principles in the work of an architect, with the aim of shaping the utility and residential aspects of public space from an aesthetic, functional and developmental point of view.
Presentations take place in the field in the form of excursions to specific locations in Prague and are connected with subsequent local analyses of selected criteria and presented solutions, which are processed by students in groups in cooperation with each other. Following the presentations and the developed analyses, students present their conclusions in a summary discussion of the entire study group in the final part of the semester.
