Here you can find information on how to complete a doctoral degree step by step in accordance with the internal regulations of CTU and FA.

A full-time doctoral study is normally spread over 4 years. The recommended stages can be described as follows:

  • 1st year – compulsory courses (minimum 2 completed); student science conference; State of the Art
  • 2nd year – compulsory branch-related courses and elective courses; Dissertation Study and discussion; publication outputs
  • 3rd and 4th year – state doctoral examination (up to the 7th semester at the most); international scientific conference; internship and publication outputs (up to the submission of the application for the defense of the dissertation); completing the dissertation

In the case of a combined form of study, the stages and deadlines are adequately extended according to the Study and Examination Regulations of the Czech Technical University and the Doctoral Studies Rules of the FA.
