She graduated in English language at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, where she obtained a doctorate in English in 1986. Since then she has been teaching English at various institutions (state language school, Glossa language school, Rolino language studio, company courses, financial administration university, FCE CTU, FEE CTU, FIT CTU). She has been working at the Czech Technical University since 1991, first as an assistant professor at the Cabinet of Languages of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and since 2000 at the Faculty of Architecture. She was a member of the selection committee of the CTU Rector's Office for student stays abroad.
