Mgr. Vladan Klement, Ph.D.

Assistant professor

Philosopher of the city/urbanism. He graduated from the Master's and PhD programme at the Faculty of Arts of the Masaryk University in Brno, in 2020 he received his PhD at the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Arts of the Masaryk University with the thesis "Moral and political implications of urbanism". He specializes in moral and political philosophy in relation to urbanism and the philosophy of the city. After completing his PhD, he joined the Centre for Global Studies at the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, where he began researching Arab urbanism in relation to moral and political influences. He has completed three international fellowships, two of which in France have had a major influence on his direction. He is a member of the international Philosophy of the City Research Group and The Informals, which brings together academics working on informal urbanism.
