REVITALIZATION OF THE MRATIN STREAM BASIN AREA

The diploma thesis focuses on the area of the Mratínský stream basin, which lies between Prague and the Elbe River. It is divided into three layers - water in the landscape, mobility and green infrastructure. Based on field surveys and analyses, it defines design areas for nature-based revitalization of spring areas, as well as stream beds with adjacent stream belts. It will increase the water retention capacity of the landscape. It also reduces water and wind erosion by restoring landscape fabric and the backbone elements that support ecosystem services. It proposes to enhance the road network by partially restoring historic roads, connecting points of interest with dirt roads and improving accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.
