Architecture and Urbanism, MA diploma project

Annotation

The contemporary setting of society places very high demands on children and contributes to the increase in mental distress of sensitive individuals. It is important that mental illnesses are not neglected and considered less important compared to physical illnesses, which are usually a manifestation of the soul and mindset. The subject of the diploma thesis is therefore the elaboration of an architectural study of a children's psychiatric hospital, where the main goals are to understand the operations of the selected typology, the needs of treatment and the creation of a proposal that will reflect this understanding and offer patients a pleasant environment, which is certainly one of the key factors of successful treatment. The thesis follows on from the diploma seminar, the analysis of which is further developed and supplemented, and subsequently presents the conceptual solution of the new building.
