BRIDGE OF INTELIGENCE

The topic of this thesis is the proposal for a new pedestrian connection between the banks of Vltava river in Prague and the new city railway station in Braník. The main topic is the functionalization of the accessibility of targets in the territory through modifications of the Braník bridge, better known due to its troubled history rather as the "Bridge of Inteligence". At present, the territory is considerably fragmented and the current solution of the footbridge together with the unfortunate position of its outlet on both sides of the bridge does not ideally help to overcome linear barriers. The goal is the proposal of more suitable approach to the bridge from several positions, to expand the profile of the footbridge and to add a stop at the end of the bridge at the Nádraží Braník station. The bridge thus takes on a new meaning and finally begins to fulfill its function - connecting.
