The cost of housing in Prague has become unaffordable for the middle class. Rail transportation stands out as one of the swiftest ways to reach the city center. Consequently, the unused and overlooked land adjacent to the railway holds significant potential in addressing the housing crisis. Situated in Kralupy nad Vltavou, this land provides housing within immediate reach of the train station, enabling a commute to Prague's center in just 35 minutes. Moreover, residents can enjoy the proximity to nature for recreational activities. I have designed a semi-open block layout featuring a diverse range of apartments catering to various household sizes, including singles, small families, and larger families. The ground floor communal spaces foster interactions among residents, promoting a sense of community, while shared offices meet the increasing demand for home office spaces, a trend that is on the rise. The residence is strategically situated near a mound with a dedicated cycle path, allowing residents to make the most of living close to nature and connecting to other cycling routes.
