Revitalization of Budějovická Tržnice

The area of Budějovická has a particular unique quality which draws people to it despite its run-down state. The retailers are conveniently located, easily accessed from the red line metro. In its current state, however, the area of the Tržnice is not quite used as the name implies. Most importantly of all, it is a place visited for necessity, not pleasure. Additionally, the site lacks greenery, making it unattractive for recreational activities. Given its location next to a residential neighborhood, the following proposal will outline a way to turn the city block into an urban park with mixed use facilities and cultural program to not only serve a newly added residential complex but the surrounding neighborhood as a whole.
