Hyena enclosure

Annotation

The new hyena enclosure in the Dvůr Králové nad Labem Zoo is moving to the new part of the zoo called southwest Africa. It will grow from the original 700m2 to 4500m2 and will become home to up to two hyena clans (3-6 individuals). Barriers between visitors and hyenas are minimized, in the place of the "peninsula" the enclosure is separated by a dry moat, which is accessible to animals. In the northern part there are outdoor stairs, from which visitors see the hyenas at eye level, which evokes the natural respect of the animal. The landscaping of the enclosure creates various nooks for hyenas as well as for visitors. In the house the visitors can watch hyenas being fed and trained.
