Enclosure for hyenas

Bc. Juraj Vronka

Annotation

The hyena enclosure was designed to meet three conditions that I identified as important at the beginning of the process. These conditions were working with height, dividing the enclosure and shaping the terrain. The building is intended only as an extension of the road, the curve of which it directly copies. At visitor level, it provides a view not only into the enclosure, but also into the internal exhibition through small windows. The underground floor then serves as an operating space for zoologists. The building has a facade made of prefabricated blocks of rammed earth. The supporting structure is made of reinforced concrete, which is lined from the inside with hay cubes for shaping.
