Research projects

Influence of the social media on behaviour of people in public space. How to design public spaces for a digitally anesthetized generation?

The research project is focused on public space at the interface of the Prague urban periphery and the adjacent open landscape (especially agricultural). The selected area of research is the change in the physical structure of the suburban landscape and its current specific manifestations. The physical structure is understood as a composition of elements - paths, areas and places - and their mutual relations and functions. The basic research question is therefore how the physical structure at the interface of the settlement (urban area) and the open landscape changed and which concepts influenced this change. It deals with today's specific landscaping in relation to the current use of suburban landscape. The work tries to reflect the current landscape structures on the background of already extincted landscape structures and the background of historical landscape structures that persist to this day. As a part of the search for answers to these research questions and identified issues will be also taken into consideration the tools available for spatial planning and regional policies, or the suggestion of their possible revision.
