REVITALIZATION OF URBAN SPACE: PROPOSAL OF AN URBAN BLOCK IN TÝN NAD VLTAVOU

This thesis builds on the diploma seminar and focuses on the revitalization of an urban block and the renovation of an existing building in the very heart of the town of Týn nad Vltavou. The renovation concerns the Bety department store, which was built in the 1980s. Today, the building is almost unused and exists as a ghost of a bygone era. From the very beginning of its construction, the Bety building faced strong criticism due to the demolition of the organic medieval buildings in the area.
