Tomáš Jan

Architecture and Urbanism, MA diploma project

Annotation

The diploma thesis focuses on the revitalization of the Malešické castle and its farmyard, which are currently suffering from neglect. The aim of the work is to restore the original charm of this historical complex, restore it to its historical value and make it available to the public. The main task is not only the restoration of the castle itself, but also the connection with the underutilized area of the village and its integration into the surrounding public area. The work presents the concept of a cultural-social center that uses a baroque castle to house the therapeutic center of the non-profit organization NAUTIS. The proposal also includes the location of a community center with a library, restaurant, study room and a low-threshold center for children and youth in the surrounding farm buildings. In addition, the project includes the new construction of an apartment building, which focuses primarily on supporting starter housing and special apartments for people with mobility impairments. It also contains a training apartment for young people with autism and facilities for sheltered housing.
