AN IDEAL CITY

The main purpose of this work is to continue the search for an ideal city and to emphasize the significance of this pursuit. A search for the ideal, as one of the basic tendencies of an architect/urban planner, is given a social dimension, where especially with planning it is possible to influence the quality of life to a large extent. Through the analysis of existing theories on the topic and its connection with other fields, the work follows the dependence between the work of an architect/urban planner and social segregation, housing crisis, ecological impacts and global warming, economic development, and the quality of the environment. Those findings are then applied in a concrete urban and architecture design.
