Reinforced concrete - the phenomenon of the 20th century - has an indelible and unique impression in sacral architecture. In the 20th and 21st century has been built all over the world many remarkable sacral buildings that could have been built thanks to reinforced concrete and its extraordinary characteristics. In the area of the Czech lands had this material its significant role, unfortunately not in the same degree as abroad and in some surrounding countries. The aim of this project is to set the Czech reinforced concrete sacral architecture of the Roman Catholic Church to the Middle European context and make a comparison with churches and chapels that were built in 20th and 21st century in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Slovak Republic, Hungary and Slovenian. On the grounds of the historical turn of events in Roman Catholic Church and the development of reinforced concrete structures in each country will be prepared a study for a comparison of the sacral architecture in Czech lands and the other Middle European countries. Finding the dissimilarities and unifying elements between the Middle European sacral architecture is the main goal of this project. As an important study material (indispensable for the following comparison) will serve solvers research material and her results from the finished project SGS 2015 "Forms of Catholic Churches Made of Reinforced Concrete in the Czech Republic"
